Discovering Buddhism
Wednesday, June 04, 2008 (640 reads)

Welcome to the Discovering Buddhism program. Awakening the limitless potential of your mind, achieving all peace and happiness. Venerable Dondrub will present the Discovering Buddhism (DB) program .  DB is designed as an experiential course in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and practice. The teachings are drawn from the Gelug tradition of Lama Tsong Khapa, a great saint and scholar of the 14th century, who presented the Buddha’s teachings as a “graduated path to enlightenment”. The methods of the DB program also reflect the unique styles of two great contemporary masters, Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-1984) and Lama Zopa Rinpoche (1945-present) and are meant to help students “taste the chocolate” of the Buddha’s words.

Illuminating the Path
Wednesday, November 14, 2007 (517 reads)

Ven DondrubVen Dondrub continues his historic first presentation of the entire Graduated Path to Enlightenment. The text for this wonderful exposition is His Holiness the Dalai Lama's commentary on Atisha'a "Lamp for the Path to Enlightenment". As an example of the Dalai Lama's inspiring words, consider this extract from page 70. "Once we develop a deep conviction in the validity of the Buddha's teachings, we gain an admiration for and faith in the Buddha himself. Based on these considerations, we can recognise the validity of the Buddha's teachings on karma. It is on this basis that we then engage in the practice of ethical discipline, refraining from the ten non-virtuous actions." Ven Dondrub brings his deep understanding to help students understand and realise the teachings.  Tuesday evenings 7.30 - 9.00pm  Please check the calendar for updates
